You have a new website..now what. All you have right now is a billboard in the middle of Google’s desert.
The only way to move up any higher than you are is to do some search engine optimization work. That means you need to either:
a) invest in a Search Engine Optimization (SEO)package
b) starting blogging regularly
Whenever a website is built, there are 2 things to do in order to rank in the search engines:
1. On site SEO. This means putting the keywords on your site and in your meta tags, page titles etc. This is what we did when we finished up your site. If there isn’t many competing sites in the search engines already ranking for your keyword, this could be enough to get you to the first page in some cases. However, in most cases…it’s not. This is were you are at.
2. Off site SEO. This would mean link building and blog posting. This is what you do if you want first page search engines rankings that last a long time AND you have other competing sites that you are unable to beat w On Site SEO by itself. However, it is very time consuming to do and prices range from $75 /mo up to $997 /mo because of the ongoing work involved.
You are mainly only going to show up for the keywords you either:
a) have on your site in various places (on site SEO)
b) actively doing off site SEO for
On site SEO is all content that you publish on your site and the keywords we’ve already added. One of the most powerful ones are the site/page title and description. The is the Page Title is what you see when viewing your site in your internet browser.
To see this in action, go to google and type “keyword here” and notice the sites on the front page. The blue title is the site/page title and the text below it is what google views as the page description. For example “auto broker ft washington maryland” local search dominates page and Google Places.
Some keywords are more competitive than others. Some might be easy to rank for with just on site SEO, some may require off site SEO.
If you’re looking to not invest any money in an SEO package, you’re going to need to do some work on your own. The easiest thing to do would be to write high quality and keyword rich blog posts about each of your keywords. Using the keyword in the post title, and throughout the content in each paragraph.
Regular blog posting that contains unique and relevant information that also includes the keywords you are targeting are a great free way to to increase your search engines over time as search engines love sites that update on a regular basis.
I can also do this for you if you want at $5 per article/blog post.
You can also do Youtube videos, which can rank on the front page of the search engines sometimes within minutes. For instance: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWKl_-Xz_GA
I hope all this makes since. If I could magically make your site appear for these keywords I would, but in order to get there its going to take work. Whether you want to leave that up to me or do it on your own, that is up to you.
